Accepted. Gabelli School of Business Lincoln Center Campus. I don’t see anything for financial Aid either… just documents and messages.
Has anyone heard from the other undergraduate schools? I see mostly from Gabelli, getting kind of scared here since I haven’t heard anything. I applied for Poli Sci at LC.
I was accepted to poli sci @ LC!
D accepted to International Studies LC to
D2 Accepted to LC for English/Writing with big scholarship. Amazed.
D accepted Rose Hill, Dean Scholarship, though not enough to consider over Bowdoin
Waitlisted from EA! Pretty surprised but hey, that’s college admissions for you. Got accepted to UCLA as an out of state student which was my number one so I’ll most likely be headed there! Also accepted to BU, Emerson and LMU. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted!
S was accepted with 21k merit scholarship. He is NMF though so maybe they did not get that notification; I think NMFs get full tuition scholarship.
@fcallicotte How do you get full tuition?
@1203southview NMFs get full tuition only if they have an A- or better average in HS and are in the top 2-3% of the applicant pool. The same goes for National Hispanic Scholars.
Is there a difference in Gabelli School of Business Lincoln Center Campus compared to the Rose Hill Campus? Because 2,000 are enrolled to the RH campus, while only 81 are enrolled in the LC Campus! Very confused
Congrats to those who got in. Sorry for those deferred or rejected. College admissions are fickle.
I always smile when I see full tuition kids say no to Fordham because “its not enough money.” Hello. College isnt free. You have to have skin in the game and taking a loan for room/board or having folks contribute isnt unreasonable.
If you need a grant on top of your scholarship, then politely and firmly appeal the decision and explain what you need. FAFSA is needed for that.
Fordham is expensive. Some schools have better aid and that is just how it goes. Cant explain the money one way or another. Things happened to my kid too…some of them infuriating.
I would not go into HUGE debt for Fordham. Not for undergrad. The national average of taking on 30k over 4 years is not outrageous and you will pay it off when you get a job and have ten years. But 30k a year in loans is too much.
Your parents are expected to help fund your education. If they refuse that is not on Fordham.
Gabelli opened a new branch of the school at LC last year in the new building. ITs a global program and smaller. LC is a liberal arts college and overall much smaller than RH. RH is the main campus in the Bronx and its gorgeous.
Gabelli main school is in RH. You live and matriculate with RH kids, then go about your business, pardon the pun as you get out of the core requirements.
Fordham is an academic school. Its going to challenge you to the max. Even if your SAT was uber high and you have a ton of AP’s and a 4.0 gpa. The cream rises to the top. Fordham ranks its students! And the best students get the best internships and jobs. That is life.
Fordham doesnt give out A’s like halloween candy. You must earn them and some professors are harder than others to get that A. That is also life. Hard work pays off. Party animals usually flunk out or their parents pull them because they wont pay for low gpas and drinking.
I encourage you to visit Fordham for the accepted students orientation in April and see for yourself. Take your time deciding as you have until May 1. Its not an easy decision. Been there, done that.
But dont just go by rankings either. Go with vibe, fit, feel, programs, location, internships, jobs, and being in NYC or whatever factor you decide is important to you for an undergraduate education.
Being small (RH is 5,000 students) means professors KNOW YOU. WELL. That is a huge plus. Small classes.
Good luck to all of you.
SO…They gave me a full ride!!! actually more than a full ride…with 54K in total (7K commuter grant)
Anyone got accepted to RH and but didn’t get housing and plan on getting an apartment here?
