Early Decision/Early Action Applicants - Class of 2020

Hi everyone.
I applied to Fordham University as an early decision applicant. I sent my application in September and I was wondering when ED applicants hear back from Fordham. Do they hear before or on December 20th? If anyone has applied to Fordham ED or EA in the past and can tell me around what time they heard back, that would be great. Fordham is my top choice and I am anxious to find out!
Thank you!

Anyone want to help me out?

This is the first year that Fordham has ED so nobody really knows.

Well EA and ED both hear back at the same time so I was wondering when we hear back.

I go to Fordham at Rose Hill right now and I’m a freshman! Last year I applied EA and got a likely letter on 11/25 and got the official acceptance along with everyone else on 12/15 online. If you have any questions about Fordham let me know! I’d be happy to help.

sorry for interrupting in between someone else post.

I was wondering whether Fordham requires mid year report. I’m an international student and i’ll apply as a RD applicant.

We dont need multiple threads on the same topic: admissions for this year’s cycles EA ED and RD. And all the subtopics of likely letters.

Ridiculous.

Please try and post to other threads of the same topic.

I’m sorry but I’m new to this website. Please refrain from being rude. I’m just a kid trying to find out if I got into my top school.

@juliannebeg IMO it was fine to start a new thread. Some people think every question on a topic should be lumped together and others think it is rude to hijack another person’s thread with your own question. People should fee free to ignore any thread they deem to be a duplication.

Yeah, there’s no reason to be rude @sovereigndebt. We’re supposed to be helping students, not trying to give them reasons to feel unwelcome.

Its not being rude. Its being clear. We dont need people starting new threads on precisely the same topic.

I dont mind helping people. I just think they need to do their own work, put forth some effort and not be annoying.

Sorry, I dont subscribe to the hand holding and cooing crowd. Particularly for Fordham, which is in New York City, a place not known for being shy, meek, or for those looking for a lot of hand holding.

I want to be supportive and welcoming and forthright. I dont think asking people to pay attention and do their homework is asking too much. Or perhaps they need to be looking elsewhere.

College is the entree to adulthood.

How many threads on Class of 2020 do you want to see here? 5? 10? Seriously. Everyone doesnt need their own personal thread.

Thank you.

^^^^As I noted early, if you don’t like a thread nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing your to read it or comment on it. If you don’t like to hand-hold, then don’t, if you find a poster “annoying” then don’t reply, if f you don’t like more than one thread on EA/ED then only look at the first one. All of those things are well within your control. You seem to be the only person “offended” by this thread. Many on CC, including myself, don’t like when a person “hijacks” another thread with his/her own question and prefer that a new thread is started. I guess that is an opinion and we can agree to disagree. I don’t see the moderators combining the threads so let’s assume it is OK as is. It is not necessary to put down posters (and yes, you are being insulting IMO) who are excited about Fordham and anxious to know when they might hear back. I know it has been many many years since your D went through this process but a little empathy never hurts.

And sorry OP…most people at Fordham are very welcoming. I wish you the best with your application.

For your information, I am not shy, meek or need hand holding. I am VERY passionate about Fordham. I am just very anxious to hear back because Fordham is my top school.
I really hope you aren’t this rude to any other students who are new to this website. Frankly, it’s unwelcoming. I don’t think any college or university would approve of your “help” to students by making them feel stupid for asking a question on a website that is supposed to be about college.

If anyone does want to answer my question, that would be appreciated.
Thank you.

My son applied EA. From what I’m reading above, this is the first year for ED? If so, it would be hard to say when you’d hear. Some schools notify ED a little ahead of EA, some on the the exact day they say, while others it’s by that date, but could be much earlier. The only thing I can advise, as someone who is new here as well, is to one, look at last year’s EA threads and two, keep an eye out here. Usually when acceptances start rolling in, people post here. For example, someone posted recently in the Fordham thread about ‘likely letters’. I’d never even heard of that before, so it was helpful. Good luck! It is hard not to know and to wait.

I applied EA in early October. Since then I’ve done some digging on the internet and I’ve found that ppl usually get @l “likely to be accepted” letter in the mail in the next couple of days. And, while I haven’t found anything about ED applicants, I know that everyone should be hearing back from Fordham before 12/15
It’s one of my top schools as well
Good Luck! (I hope this was helpful btw)

I myself am curious to see the outcome of ED this inaugural year.

I heard some people were getting there likely letters yesterday and today. I still haven’t gotten mine.

I don’t get it either.

Fordham usually sends early email promises of acceptance before Thanksgiving to a few highly qualified students from Jesuit and other Catholic high schools. Several students received those emails today. The final and official communication of acceptance will be on December 20th. I hope this helps.

@ReminiscingDad you meant some of us are going to receive the letters today?
