Fordham scholarships

When do we hear about these? The backend systems for Fordham are so confusing.

Mine was mentioned in my admissions decision…

My D’s was listed in the letter as an up to amount. Then, in FA it shows the amount. This was for EA but I would imagine it’s similar for RD.

I just heard back from admissions, if you are an international applicant then financial aid should be written in your acceptance letter. If it is not means you have not been awarded any aid. Thats the case with me :disappointed:

Like other colleges, Fordham tells you if you have a scholarship in your admissions letter. If nothing is there, you didn’t get a scholarship. That does not mean you did not get any aid, however.

Also, aid is not always up immediately. Check back into the FA portal at the end of the week to check the status of your aid. It usually takes up to about a week to receive the aid package in the mail.

So I guess a 34 ACT, 4.4 GPA, and good ECs doesn’t get a penny at Fordham?

That’s odd. Then maybe it’s just the Dean’s scholarship they announce in the letter? Anyway, FA still hasn’t been posted it seems for some of you guys, so don’t get discouraged. I can’t comment on stats because I have no idea how Fordham distributes scholarships and aide. My family just wound up appealing once we got our FA package.

My Conversation with Fordham regarding Aid :-
I asked why I can’t see scholarship information and this is what they said

All admission decisions are reached without consideration of financial need at the time of application. Additionally, merit scholarships, while available, are extremely competitive - only awarded to approximately 8% of Fordham’s nearly 43,000- plus applicants. This year, the average GPA of award recipients was 3.95 and SAT Critical Reading and Math scores averaged nearly 1470. Notification of scholarship is included within admission letters so if there was no indication in the online letter, then unfortunately, it means you did not qualify for these awards among so many outstanding peer applicants. As such, we will be unable to provide additional funding toward your enrollment at Fordham.

We realize that finances play an important role in your and your family’s decision making process on where to attend university and understand that this may affect your ultimate decision on enrollment. We encourage you to seek outside scholarship opportunities and should any of these need university confirmations or support, please let us know and we’d be happy to help.

I ask that you refer to the content of the acceptance letter which states, “For U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents, information about financial aid and resources for financing your Fordham education can be found at my.fordham.edu”. As such, those without the immigration status indicated will not have financial opportunities listed. For your own reference, notification of scholarship is included within admission letters so if there was no indication in the online letter, then unfortunately, it means you did not qualify for these awards among so many outstanding peer applicants.

I hope this information is helpful.
