Hey everybody.

I'm a sophomore at the University of Florida and I'm interested in applying to Fordham University as a transfer. A few questions about my chances.

The first thing to note is that I had a rough freshman year here, as I was immature, unprepared to live on my own, and in the wrong major (neuroscience/pre-med) due to familial pressure and other factors. After 1 year here, I amassed a 2.5 GPA, having to drop two classes my first semester, and failing one my second. I'm currently in my third semester, in a new major (poli sci--the major I originally wanted declare as), and doing much better.

In high school, I had a 3.67 GPA, a 1960 SAT, and a 31 ACT, which are some pretty good numbers. The only question is, will Fordham accept me based on those? Will my first year of college doom me?

I'm considering applying for next fall, so they might see that I've gotten my act together as a sophomore with the grade jump that'll be seen on my college transcript.

Not only am I trying to get in, but I'd also like to be able to afford an education there, through any way possible. Can it be done with my freshman year holding me back? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!
