What do u think it may mean?
@daisypoppy11 I hope it means nothing. I guess the worry would be no financial aid link=no financial aid OR no offer of acceptance. But I am trying not to read into anything too much…LOL
im a transfer student who got accepted to fordham university, for next semester. my financial aid link is gone as well, and im accepted. you guys are all fine.
4.12 w, 1250 SAT, EA to Rose Hill, Poli Science
EA International Studies, LC. I have been back and forth with the financial aid office regarding documents they needed for my aid package “if I decide to enroll at Fordham” so I’m assuming I have already been admitted lol
Good luck to everyone!
@serenitymaxa Did the conversation start with Nov 29 when they sent you an email to remind you on financial aid filing? I got that email too.
@Frances007 Ah mine was for something else! I had filed everything in the beginning of November, but they emailed me later on to bring certain documents to their office in the fall of next year if I enrolled. It’s listed as an outstanding requirement (that can’t be fulfilled until I enroll) on my financial aid profile, so I figured I was accepted. (It’s something in addition to FAFSA and the CSS profile, so my circumstances are a little bit different)
@serenitymaxa Got it. Thanks.
@serenitymaxa Congratulations! Would you mind sharing your SAT/ACT/GPA…for reference? I’m PR holder but could be classified as international too…not sure.
@Frances007 Thank you!! I have a 4.1 GPA and 27 ACT. While it’s below average, I found my strengths to be in my essay, background, extra-curriculars, etc. which are all heavily geared towards my chosen major. There are a lot of factors that go into decisions, so it really just all depends!
@serenitymaxa Thanks! You are right that it’s a holistic evaluation.
Hi,
32 ACT
Perfect GPA (4.3505 w)
Officer in 2 clubs, co-captain of varsity tennis team
Volunteer at food bank and for mayoral campaign
Lifeguard over one summer, worked at an ice cream shop over the next summer
Visited both Fordham campuses
I applied EA for the 3/2 engineering program, mathematics major at Lincoln Center, but after visiting I have completely changed my mind to Rose hill campus and biology major.
I mainly am wondering about merit scholarships and financial aid if anyone can give me help with that.
Hi everyone! I’m a multiracial (Spanish, Asian, White) female from a top public high school in New Jersey and I applied Early Action to Fordham College at Rose Hill. I was wondering if someone would be able to chance me.
3.8 W GPA, 1410 SAT (740 R/W, 670 M). Many honors/AP classes, very good upward trend with GPA
Extracurriculars: On tennis team at school, Spanish club, Film club, Part time job, volunteer work as a tennis instructor for children ages 3-6, tennis training 3x a week during the off-season.
I applied Undecided. I’ve visited campus once. I’ve also been in contact with my regional admissions representative a couple of times.
My guidance counselor’s recommendation was very strong, and I have close relationships with both of the teachers who wrote my recommendations.
I wrote my common app essay about being two religions in a small town where everyone went to the same church and believe that it came out really well. Writing is something I’m passionate about. Do you think I have a strong chance at admission?
I want to get into Fordham really bad but I have a 3.0 GPA and 27 ACT. I had a bad freshman and sophomore year and I have a steep and clear upward trend and wrote my essay on why that happened. I have volunteer hours and have done theater since freshman year and I just am freaking out! I’m OOS too.
they released them dec 15 last year, so I’m hoping the notify us on friday!!
When they released them the 15th last year, did they still say they were going to be released the 19th?
Yes, that was what happened last year based on the thread of class 2021! Could anyone of you in US call the admission office this week to check out when they plan to release this year? Thanks!
Do you guys think we will be notified by email or through the fordham portal?
@torre407512 I think by both.
Last year there was a date confirmation email closer to the release date, and then on that date the results were released. When he went into the portal his results were there.
Shortly after, he had an invitation to meet Fordham’s president at a party. He did not attend due to prior engagement. Then he had another president party invitation, but it was a school night and he wanted to have a strong finish at his school. (And he did!)
He did attend Fordham’s Accepted Students day and Fordham’s charismatic president’s welcome speech. Funny line about suburban Boston College (unnamed but obvious) vs Fordham’s being in NYC. Prez is a witty public speaker, and there were evidently a large group of Boston College accepteds there. (Or he was staging a good-natured, self-flattering rivalry. Not sure.)
Fordham’s tempting in many ways, and a beautiful campus at Rose Hill, or convenient to theater at Lincoln Center.
Though I don’t know how Fordham’s admission people get through all those apps, including the popular freebie–there are so very many apps to produce a yield that only hovers around 10%.
Fordham’s admissions presenter on our first info tour (we visited around 5 times,) told our group not to apply if the GPA was under UW 3.7. We walked away afterward with our chins on the ground. He almost didn’t bother applying, except they sent the free app and he really, really liked Rose Hill. (Who wouldn’t?)
I suppose FU wanted the strongest applicants, but that info session discouragement started the slow deflation that eventually took the wind entirely out of his sails. (Just as well, everything worked out.)
Just be of good cheer, you hopefuls: If you’re below a 3.7, don’t panic. It really is a holistic admission.
Also, I understand through several sources, including a student guide, that Catholic school applicants have an inside track. (The guide got into Gabelli with a low-ish GPA from a Catholic “feeder.” He was sure that unlocked admission.)
Good luck! Great choice! Relax! You’ll get in somewhere, and if you’ve done it right, you’ll be happy–even at your safety.
