Fordham vs James Madison vs Penn State (UP) vs Maryland (CP)

Out of these four schools, which would you guys suggest for studying business?

Things to consider:

-I plan on majoring in finance or economics.
- I hope to take advantage of study abroad programs and internships.
- I enjoy both urban and non-urban life.
- I want a good learning enviorment with well-informed professors.
- Looking for the overall college experience; plenty of social interaction but strong academics

Please give your thoughts!

What state do you live in? Do you think you would be admitted into an honors program?

So does this mean you want to work as a business analyst, or do you want to work in banking or stock trading. For the latter, where you go to school is very important. I think that UMCP and Penn State are mostly going to be recruited for back office positions, although you may be able to get something else through networking. I think Fordham has okay recruiting from the banks, but I would double check. JMU probably won’t have anything.

For the former, I think that UMCP and Penn State are the strongest simply because large businesses want to get as many people as they can.

Fordham is definitely in the city. UMCP is basically its own town, with buses running into and out of the huge main campus. It has its appeal as well as its drawbacks so you should visit it if you can.

As institutes of research, UMCP and Penn State are the strongest.

I’d again go with UMCP and Penn State.

I live in N.J – and I have no idea what I want as of now but I am pretty certain I am going to be drawn to those two majors. Some career’s I’ve considered are Financial Advising (following in my father’s footsteps for he currently is an Advisor at Northwestern Mutual),Corporate Finance, Commercial Banking…yet at the same time Economics is a subject that truly interests me as well, with careers in Investment/Management Consulting seem interesting.

But to be honest I think it’s better that I don’t know for certain what I want now. Instead, I’ll take classes in multiple areas and see what really draws me in.

bump please!
