I wonder if being polylingual would be a plus to students applying to LACs in the States. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance!

It certainly can't hurt. Which languages do you speak? I'm fluent in Swedish, French, and English (in that order), and passable in Spanish. I'm trying to decide which to learn next--maybe Hindi, but I'm not sure.

It's helpful if you know how to put it in a essay! and how it has some effect in you life and what you did with it! Did you enter any competitions? Did you go to that country? Did you use those langauges to help others? What have you done with this talent? Ask yourself that and you'll be set to go!

hindi mite b a hard language to pick up after learning 4 european languages with classical roots.. japanese might b an easier one to go for..

and i think it'd b a plus to b polylingual as long as u use it towards ur advantage in ur essays

Hindi isnt hard...really. I learnt it in 3 years. English was my first language, Norwegian my second. I had not even heard hindi and then started learning it by just watching movies :p

and no im not joking lol i kno someone who does this
