Hi, I am an incoming highschool senior. During the majority of my time in highschool, I accepted most of the volunteer work available to me from the school and clubs I was active in, but I never really went out to look for more. I really regret this, and am looking to gain a fresh start while attending college.

My question comes in, while searching for scholarship programs I can take part in.
See, I would like to do scholarship programs that are more so of a contract, rather than looking into my past work, etc. I really want to stay active with volunteering, rather than simply have some volunteer work around the highschool and community I (came) from.

So, I would like to look for scholarship programs that ask me to partake in charitable work in poverty-stricken foreign countries, in return for some financial aid with my college.

I realize this probably is a problem, because you usually get financial aid for going abroad to said foreign countries in order to do the volunteer work- not for the actual volunteer work in addition to college aid.
I accept this fact, so I'm thinking it would be more reasonable to give foreign aid my freshman year of college, and simply look for other scholarships to get in, and my foreign aid during my freshman year will go towards applying for scholarships the second year.

However, in the meantime, I am still wondering if there are any 'contract' type scholarships out there I can apply to, in which I receive aid for my volunteer-work during highschool.

Also, so I can continue searching; what would these service contract scholarships be considered when google-searching them?

Do they have their own category?
...Website?

Do I look to large corporations, or small private funding peoples?

Do any colleges, actually provide financial aid to the student, themselves, under some form of service contract?

Finally, if I am unable to get into volunteer work abroad my first year; are there working contracts with schools, in which you can work for the school, and have some form of financial aid contract with the school itself?

Thank you
