i know CC isn't as narrow as other places are, and i know there's a lot of diversity here, so i won't be surprised if people here listen to foreign songs

what's your favorite foreign song? come on, i know you have one or two. japanese anime songs, korean songs (mine), peruvian traditional music with windpipes (my friend likes them a lot lol), british songs (i heard they make the best bands), or french love songs (i actually liked some)

although mine isn't really foreign, it's the song 'so hot' by the wonder girls (don't judge them by their name :P). they're a korean group, and i keep listening to them while studying..

(i can't give a link right? YOUTUBE IT NOW. it's soo addicting)

I love all sorts of foreign music. J-Rock, J-Metal, Indian classical music, Flamenco, Mongolian Overtone singing, German metal (MEEEEEEEIN HERZ BRENT) etc.

From the "international" playlist in my Zen:

"Hafanana" - by Afric Simone (GREATEST SONG ON PLANET EARTH) They are from Mozambique.

"Chale Jaise Hawwaein" - Soundtrack to Hindi movie Main Hoon Na.

"Raphael" - by Carla Bruni. French First Lady.

"Stop! Dimentica" - by Tiziano Ferro. Italian Electronica.

I'm not familiar with foreign music, but I've watched a bunch Spanish/Portuguese language commercials b/c 1. they're better than American commercials and 2. it's fun to test your listening comprehension. Quilmes (Argentine brewery) and Brahma (Brazilian brewery) make funny commercials. Look them up on YouTube.

Progressive (prog) rock is a genre that often has long compositional structure, use of eclectic instruments as well as rock ones, and combines classical style and rock melody. Examples: Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, ELP, Renaissance, Gong, etc. Listen to some. It's awesome :)
