Form 3A-- Computer, Chemistry, Physics Statement

Hi:
My d recently got a letter stating that form 3 A (Computer, Chemistry, Engineering or Physics Statement) was missing from her Brown application.
Is this form required for the Bachelor of Arts degree? (She is not sure if she wants to be a Physics major, but had noted Physics along with Psych and Philosophy as her choices for a major…and she is a strong physics and math student but is really interested in the Philosophy of Science…)

Any help here would be appreciated. Should I tell her to just send in form 3-A late (i.e., fedex it today), or simply to change her major (delete Physics) on the update sheet, since she is not sure about a major yet…
Thanks so much.

My son is also applying to Brown. For fewer hassels with the admissions ofice I would just advise her to fill it out and send it asap.

Thanks, Menlopark and good luck to your son!!!

Menlopark....hmm thats right near livingston :)

Wow, that's my situation too. I marked Physics as primary and philosophy as well as music as secondary, thinking (I misread it) that because I put bachelor of arts no supplemental would be required. Now I have to write some short essays on Physics--I thought I was done!!

I'm deciding to stick with it though as opposed to calling them up and having them change it--I think it will most likely help, anyway.

Hi Gouda:
My d is writing the essay right now -- I hope things work out for both of you and that you both get accepted!

Offhand-- Gouda, are you Dutch? If so I guess the interest in Physics, Philosophy and Music runs in the genes cuz my D is also part Dutch.. and these are her interests and strengths......Interesting.....

Hope you got everything faxed off OK and I hope that it is not too late for you and my daughter ... I believe in destiny, and if Brown in in your destinies, you will go there regardless of the delay with Form 3A.

We also misread the requirement for 3A. She filled it out yestereday-- the downloadable version was not editable with Adobe Acrobat full version so in the end it was hand-typed, whiteout and all........

Unlike the 3A PDF, Georgetown's PDFs were editable, BUT any edited PDF files were NOT SAVABLE--- meaning if you turn the computer off for the evening -- you come back the next morning and bring up the "saved" pdf document and it is a blank form again..... kinda like a modern version of Sisyphus without the rock..... tee hee....
