There's not much in the forums about Forman and I'm wondering if anyone has any personal experience with the school and/or their students.

Their acceptance rate is very high - 70%. This is worrisome to me, but perhaps there is a good explanation...?

I realize it's a school specifically for kids w/ LD's. Just wondering how that translates into the overall school experience. Also, it seems to have a very low diversity factor, so also wondering how that feels in practice.

Would appreciate any experience you might like to share!

A friend’s son is a freshman this year. He seems to like it and believes it is surprisingly easier than he thought it would be coming from a pretty academically rigorous middle school. I looked at their college matriculation data though and overall was not impressed. I can see though for any specific individual looking for help to learn the most during these academically critical years, that this could be a very good fit for someone with LD/ADHD.

My son goes to Forman. The teachers/staff and administration are wonderful and the school is impressive. A friend’s daughter, went on to Princeton from Forman. The school is a college prep, however, a student needs to be enrolled in the honors program for the rigorous curriculum. The school offers competitive sports in line with the area preps, Gunnery being their rival. The only negative is the students who are accepted as “last chance” ADHD kids, the behavioral-failure types. We were told they do not accept this type, yet my son encountered many disruptions. It is very expensive (62K). You get a great school/teachers/programs for that price.
