Formula difference for 2008-2009 vs. 2009-2010?

I tried my numbers on both FAFSA formulas, and apparently my EFC is like 700 lower on the 2009-2010! This isn't about the dislocated workers or the automatic 0 EFC or anything like that, this is something that seems to apply to everyone.

Did they loosen up the formulas? I think the income protection for both the student and the parents went up quite a bit! Does anyone have any details on this?

Student income protection went up from 3080 to 3750. Parent income protection a little bit. (Hard to give an exact number as it varies according to number in family and number in college - family of 4 with 1 in college went up @700). Parent asset protection for a 2 parent family with the older aged 50 went up $6300, but for a single parent aged 50 only went up $2300, making the income protection for a single parent 40.5% of that for 2 parents which is even worse than last year's 41%.
