My D just got assigned a double room in Foster in the northwest neighborhood. She was hoping for Briscoe or McNutt. Can anybody give some insight (positive or negative) on Foster? Is it quiet or noisy? Is it a party dorm or do students actually study here? Also, is there room to have the two beds on the floor? The room looks small, and I see a few pictures of bunk beds on the website.

Anyone out there with any insight? Thanks.

Here are a few reviews of Foster from the WeAreIU blogs:

My younger daughter stayed in foster for a week for a camp she did at iu. The beds were both on the floor, not bunked. There was room, but not a lot. Very roomy closets and shelves. My older daughter had a friend in foster three years ago and her friend said it was a big party dorm. Northwest has that reputation. But I’m sure it eventually settles down. My middle daughter had friends who hated where they lived initially last year (eigenmann) and both were able to move to Ashton during first semester where they were very happy. In other words, if she is miserable, she won’t be stuck.

Foster is fairly similar to Briscoe and McNutt in terms of the party atmosphere. Outside of that, it’s older than Briscoe, but relatively equal to McNutt when it comes to room quality.
