Housing

Which Northwest neighborhood is the best..Briscoe,Foster,Collins, or McNutt?

What I have heard:
Briscoe = expensive, athletes, partiers
McNutt= one floor Kelley LLC, partiers
Collins= hipsters
Foster= ??

What do you want?

coed… partiers but also be able to be in my room and study when i want to during the week

If money isn’t a concern then Briscoe for sure. Nicest dorms, free laundry on each floor, personal bathrooms, and coed. Partiers of course but you’ll find that no matter what dorm you’re in. I live in Briscoe now and you should have no problem studying in your room during the week. Even on weekends if you need to stay in on a Friday night to study. It’s not the giant party dorm where people rage and are loud 24/7 like some people think.

thank you…how long do you have to apply for briscoe before loosing out is it well before may 1st?

I applied the first day the application came out to make sure I got Briscoe. I know the Northwest in general fills up very quickly, but I don’t know anything exact. All I can really say is the sooner you apply the better. Will you be coming to IU in the fall or were you wanting to know for future reference?

My daughter applied the first day too - so I would apply asap if I were you. You can’t request a specific building, just a neighborhood. If you want Briscoe you would choose Northwest and also choose enhanced housing (extra cost).

ok so i applied for housing and hit northwest, but Briscoe was not an option how can i specifically get Briscoe?

You can’t specifically request Briscoe…but you can choose enhanced housing (the housing choice that costs more, and that is Briscoe for the Northwest) and hope for the best. You can only request a neighborhood, not a building. Hope this helps!

thank u…ok they have a thing for priority …if i want Briscoe should i put enhanced housing as my first priority or northwest as my top priority?
