@cupcakes88 @bay0333 My friend and I are also in the same boat. In-state transfers for accounting. We both have unofficial transcripts as of Friday with congratulations. Both transcripts say business school and accounting for the major. When we log in to foster app, they are both in review. Same as you two. Should we call tomorrow?
@Mountaineer2019
Yes, I plan on calling tomorrow. I hope they either tell us if we’re accepted or not or give us longer to accept. I’ll post on here the response that I get ! Currently my acceptance date is May 20th and Foster’s replies don’t come out until the 1st of June
If you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats? I’m suprised we heard back so soon and am curious how they’re deciding who gets notified first.
My culm gpa was a 3.95 and my Pre-App was a 3.9, and I took the WSA on March 4th but I wasn’t too confident with it.
@bay0333 That’s good. I’m excited to hear what you find out.

@mountaineer2019 @cupcakes88
I just called Foster’s and they wouldn’t give me a definite answer, but did say I should hear back before my accept / deny date of May 20th, which would mean we’d be hearing back early !
Did you guys get a different answer ?
@bay0333 I called foster and they said “decisions will come out this week”. my due date is may 16/17 (letter said 16 website says 17) so I also called UW and they told me that “of course” I can disregard the due date if I haven’t heard back from the department by then…but it sounds like we should hear back soon!!
@cupcakes88 So does it mean many students will hear back this week also? Do you know Foster send out their decisions once or by rounds like UW? If we can get to know this week that’s so early and exciting. Because I remember there was a comment said Foster send out all at once. Congratulations to you all by the way
Foster sends out all the decisions at once and it is through your email, not mail. All transfer students would get an email when the decision would be ready to view it.
@Mountaineer2019 if your transcripts say so that you are definitely into Foster because if you were not and u were only accepted by UW your transcript would just say Pre-major A&S. Congratulation
Omg! Really, this week?. Aaah… Super nervous. Congrats on your guys’ acceptance to general.
@UofW2017 I called UW admissions and they informed me that Foster has not released their decisions yet and that UW has only made determinations about your admission to UW based on whatever your second choice major was (provided that it was an open / non-competitive major). I was told that the major you see on your transcripts online is not always accurate and is based on what your 1st choice was so you still need to wait for Foster to either accept / deny you to know wether you were admitted to UW for Business Administration. Who knows though, UW might be trying to cover their asses for sending out letters (and beating Foster in terms of making department decisions) almost two months earlier than they told us they would!!
Oh, if you guys go on Foster’s website (I linked the page in another comment…it’s called something like “Standard Admission”) they updated it today to say that decisions will come out “just before Priority I Junior registration”. I looked it up and that date is MAY 11TH so I think it’s safe to say that most if not all of us will hear back within the next 2 days!
I read the section you said and I think that was for curent/returning UW students only. In the transfer section it still indicate June. Perhaps we can call and ask them
@cupcakes88 I am a current UW student and we got our decision back from Foster on April 28th and for transcripts they only ssy that after registrar office have heard from Foster otherwise they always say Pre-Major (A&S). For us our transcripts did not change until the week after we had our decisions and it still says Current major: Pre major and major starting in Summer: Accounting. Also the notice about that you will hear back before Junior registration has always been there and its only for current UW students. We already had our orientation and orientation’s for transfer students is in June.
ACCEPTED. I was just admitted to the University of Washington Seattle and the Foster School of Business for Accounting. Emails went out a few minutes ago.

Culm GPA: 3.95
Pre-App: 3.9
WSA: 4.25
I’m very excited !! I noticed something weird in my letter though and I’m not sure if anyone else has this in theirs / can explain … in the beginning of the letter it states that I have been admitted to Fosters for Summer / Fall 2017. Then are conditions , and condition 1 states, "1. Enroll at the University of Washington for the quarter you were admitted winter 2017 and successfully complete at least one class during that quarter. "
Why would it say I need to complete a class in winter 2017?? Does anyone else have this likely typo or is it just me ??
Thanks for all your help !
^ @bay0333 You should definitely call the admissions office tomorrow and ask them about that!
Are we all supposed to get a decision today?
@bay0333 mine says the same exact thing! just noticed that, let me how if you call and find out what it means!
