@angelahong Are you an in state CC transfer?
@Guhlio yea as an international student tho lol
@Guhlio if i did not get any error email, does that means that i failed to get in Foster for this Fall?
We could compare stats. People who received a letter and those who did not. If people send me their applications stats in a PM as well as if the got an email or not, I can generate a mean for both email received and email not received, to see if there is a trend.
This method would also allow people to keep their information somewhat private (I am the only one who would the their individual stats, ie. Cum GPA, Pre APP GPA, and WSA score.) For anyone with a pending WSA score I would use 4.
You can also send stats to 4253672013 if you are an applicant who does not have a college confidential account.
@angelahhong I have no idea; I hope that isn’t the case or I wouldn’t be getting in either.
@Guhlio @angelahhong Don’t worry guys,i think it was for UW natives that got accepted for Fall 2015, and that does not mean we who didn’t get those email are rejected already.
You folks are really over-analyzing this stuff.
Take a deep breath. Realize the decision is out of your control right now. And focus on things you currently have agency over. Take what UW said at face value and just wait for the decisions to roll out.
There is little to gain over obsessing over these things.
The party has been killed
yep it has been killed LOL
So has anything new happen, any signs or updates?
I’m guessing that email was an invitation for Business Week at Foster? It’s kind of unfair because we usually invite the new transfer students to the business bbq (BizBQ). I was looking forward to meeting some new transfers!
But yeah, it could be the case that they accidentally sent it to SOME of the transfers that they already have classified as admitted. I got that email last year immediately after I was admitted. It makes sense that they accessed the data base for all the emails of the accepted students and didn’t realize that transfers were still being reviewed… I’m just saying because, in high school, my friend got an email from UW inviting her to an event for new students a week earlier than when acceptance letters were supposed to come out. She got in, of course. lol These kinds of things happen pretty often.
So far, nothing new. Based on the responses I received, the majority of the people who received the email have impressive stats. My only issue, is there are a couple applicants who had a 3.5GPA who received an email, and there are students with a 3.85CUM 4.5 WSA and 3.96 pre app GPA who did not receive an email. That alone, makes me think that a lack of email is not a confirmation that an applicant didn’t get in.
I am hoping that the decision letter would come out around the end of may or early June. I heard last year, it was sent during the mid of May because UW made an early decision. I dont know why they are like this year …
so does that mean if i didn’t get the email, i’m rejected already?
@will96 So long as the final decision is not released, meaning applicants are still being reviewed, you still stand a chance of being accepted! @Chamorro671 It was actually an email to remind us to pick up a free BizBQ ticket for new admitted students.
Yeah, and i just called them, they said it has nothing to do with the decision at all. They said it was being sent to all applicants and they stopped it before everyone got it after randomly sent to the first batch of the random list
@will96 the research that I did, and discussed above agrees with what they said. I had people with a pretty low GPA receive the email, in addition, people with a very high GPA and WSA score not receive the email.
So… In addition to what they told you, the data I received from applicants supports their statement. The email, does not mean anything
@will96 That’s good news because I have been freaking out about that haha.
Tells people to stop over-analyzing meaningless “signs” for the sake of their own sanity
*People continue trying to analyze meaningless “signs” *
Meaningless “signs” are confirmed to be… wait for it… meaningless
I remember when I was but a wee applicant, so I can sympathize with your paranoia, but really, just wait for the decisions to roll out. You’ll thank me later when you stop agonizing and torturing yourself over immaterial happenings/developments.
The world just became a little bit less happy
