Founding a club or being part of an effort to found a club?

<p>If you are part of a group of like 8 people who founded an organisation together, is it appropriate to claim you "founded" the organisation? I ask because I don't want to outright lie and imply I did it single-handedly, but saying "I was part of a group of 8 people who founded an organisation" sounds like a mouthful...</p>

<p>Which should I say on college apps/interviews? Semantics are a *****.</p>

<p>I would think that “founding member” is accurate, though I see your issue. maybe “a founding member”?</p>
