I'm currently signed up for Poli Sci 41, which is a four-unit, pass/fail, freshman-only seminar. I found this kind of odd, since most seminars I've seen are one or two units. Has anyone taken something like this? I'm really interested in the subject matter and it's four units which is great. I just hope I'm not getting myself into something weird haha. Thoughts?

Well, the number of units is generally supposed to the amount of effort involved - with some notorious exceptions. Still, the amount of reading and work expected in the seminar would be more than the typical seminar, judging by the book list and number of units assigned.

Nothing weird otherwise - just treat it with the respect due for a 4 unit course in judging your total workload. Usually, seminars are pretty light fare and make for a good balance in a schedule against other study-intensive or assignment-intensive classes. In this case, consider it more meaty than the usual seminar.
