I just posted a review of the Olin School of Engineering on my blog written by our own Becks --- sounds like a very interesting place. To read Becky's comments, click on my name, then "visit Carolyn's homepage."

My son had a very hard time choosing between Olin and MIT last spring after being accepted at both. Olin has a unique and complete application which differs from most by incorporating a "candidating" process for the final ~150 applicants, from which they select a class of roughly 75. If you'd be interested in a description of that process, let me know and I can write something up with my son. I visited there after his Candidating Weekend, and was mostly very impressed, with just a few drawbacks popping into my mind.

Mootmom graciously corrected my title: it's Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, not School. Thanks Mootmom.

Mootmom, could you elaborate on the drawbacks in particular?
