Is it possible to go to a frat party and not drink and still have fun?

Im a freshman and I want to go to a frat party later to have some fun and just dance for a bit but I hear that everyone at frat parties drink...is this true? Would i be look down upon if i didnt drink lol?

And if cops show up do they arrest freshman? lol

At my school cops will only shut down a frat party if they pick up loads of students who are coming out wasted. If they only get 1 who say “I was at this frat” they won’t do anything (even though most students wisely “can’t remember” where they got wasted). And yeah they’ll give you a citation if you’re even on the sidewalk drunk. Hint: Don’t carry any of your drunk friends, because it’s a dead giveaway to passing cops.

I wouldn’t drink at a frat party. It’s much easier to score drunk sorority chicks if you’re sober. I also know from exp. that college girls can’t hold their liquor to save their lives. Use your peripherals (40 Year Old Virgin)!!!

speaking from experience, it is really really awkward. i feel weird whenever i talk to drunk girls while sober(if the conversation is leading that way). like unclean.

^^ I prefer the tune-out method. 99% of the time they stereotypically only want to talk about themselves or rant/complain about something and all you have to do is nod your head and say variations of “yeah” “uh-huh” and “ok” every 3 minutes. I carried a conversation once for like 45 minutes doing this.

It’s not just the fact that conversations might be weird, it’s more the fact that there could be consent issues. Getting with drunk girls while you’re sober seems really shady to me.

I’ve been going to frat parties every night this week. If you don’t want to drink just get 1 cup and nurse it all night. And ifyou don’t want to do more than one cup everyone is absolutely fine with a guy who dosent drink.

It’s fine. I’ve visited friends at schools that are heavily greek, and I went to a few frat parties where I really didn’t feel like drinking. On nights when I don’t feel like getting drunk, my usual strategy is to hold a cup of some sort of liquid (anything; it could be water from the tap for all I care) and usually people won’t even ask. In college, people are a lot less judgmental.

Depends on your town. Here at my school the cops wouldn’t not arrest a freshman simply because they are a freshman. But they don’t arrest you for plain old underage drinking unless you’re breaking things or causing a disturbance. If a party gets too huge they just ask everyone to leave (sometimes if people don’t they threaten to check IDs, but that’s really really rare).

You may go to frat parties without drinking. I doubt anyone cares. But everyone will be drunk. I personally have no patience for drunk people if I’m sober, so I wouldn’t want to go out without drinking. If I don’t feel like drinking, I stay in. But the culture of other schools is probably different.
