how much would u have to pay if u get in? im no sure if i want to rush but it would be nice to know.

Fees vary by frat.

You can find some info on it here [UCSD IFC](http://www.ifcucsd.org/)

thanks vertex.

what are some stereotypes between all the fraternities? i know stereotyping isnt the best way to define a fraternity, but its the first thing that most ppl lable them as when they join. :P

^It’s not considered good taste to list stereotypes online. Ask around when you get to school or go on a gossip website, CC isn’t for that purpose.

alrighty, i just wanted the general information about the chapters available in our campus :P

ive searched online but i still cant find any information of membership fees for fraternities. can someone just gimme like an estimate? the onlything that will stop me from rushing is gonna be financial difficulties ._.

edit: i found one for lamda chi alpha
the membership fee is like 65 dollars, initiation fee is 170. and the annual fee (billed twice a year is 60 dollars…)

im looking at the chapter fees. which is like 600 to 800 dollars… that number scares me. whats a chapter fee??? and are other frat fees around this price range?

A lot of fraternities are really expensive. Not just for the required fees, but also because pledges often have to buy all the alcohol for parties. It adds up. But i’m not sure of exact amounts. I’ve heard anywhere from 150-300 per quarter (three quarters per year) is average.

That doesn’t include party funds + all the extra money you’ll spend to take a date on fraternity formals (some go to vegas, palm springs, etc )

^thanks.

ive seen ur previous posts around CC, so i think ur in a sorority(?) is working a part-time on campus job managable while being greek? or is it just straight out impossible?

^i’m in a sorority, and i have a part-time job. totally do-able even while getting good grades:)

just a warning though, pledge period for fraternities can be very time consuming.

haha thanks for the warning. i purposefully made my first fall quarter filled with easy classes so ill have more time to explore the campus :D
