My son is a pledge at a fraternity at Tulane and it appears to be stressing him out. Does anyone have any insight as to how much these young men go through during the process? I want him to concentrate on his academics without having to worry about the pressure of being accepted by his brothers. Is all of this worth the stress? Also, does anyone know the yearly cost of belonging to a frat at Tulane?
@brecol2 I am going through the exact same thing although the past 4 or 5 days he seems to be less stressed. He called us over the weekend and told us his grades are suffering I am very concerned/torn. I know for my sons Frat I already got the bill for $1200 but I don’t know if they are all the same. I really don’t want to say which one as he would kill me for saying he was stressed on a public forum. This was for one year, not the semester. I know he has 2 hours of study hours each night during pledging. My husband was never in a frat, I spoke to my brother who told me it was amazing experience and he should stick it out and deal with the stress, that his frat brothers are his best friends at 50. I don’t have an answer if its worth it, I know my son is going forward with it.
