Freaking out about college applications! Early action or regular?

I'm freaking out about college applications. I thought I knew what I wanted to major in for about a year or two now, but yesterday I was researching the job and found something in it I would never be able to do. I now don't want to major in that and I have no idea what to do. I wanted to apply with the early action or priority for all my colleges so I'd have a better chance of getting accepted. If I want to do that I have to have everything together by October 17th. I also asked 3 of my teachers for recommendation letters in September and only one of them has started to write it. Then I heard that if you need financial aid (fafsa) that you shouldn't do early action or priority for the applications. I currently have only 3 colleges I'm 100% sure I want to apply to because those are the only colleges I've visited. Should I wait and visit the other colleges before I apply to any? I'm afraid that I won't get accepted to some colleges if I don't apply early. I feel that I'd also need a lot of time to decide which college to go to. What should I do?

You’re 100% mistaken that you have to have a declared major in order to apply successfully to a colleges EA program.

Early Action is fine for FinAid because it’s not binding. Early Decision is. It seems you do not know the diff btn the two. It’s essential that you find out ASAP. Generally it sounds like you’re not a candidate at all for ED (fin aid, undecided). ED is a good option if you have a CLEAR #1 choice and Fin Aid isn’t a big concern. Neither apply to you.

Different schools offer different options (EA or ED or rolling). You need to spend time on their admissions webpages to find out what combinations are allowable.
