I want to explain Math for entrance exams for free, one hour each month, to 4 boys or fewer. Is it allowed in this forum?
I would be intrested if you could teach me some math for SAT. I’m taking the SAT in ~60 days.
I’m in the same boat ^
how are you gonna teach us? senpai?
xD
Only boys?
Can I join in the lessons?
I can teach by skype etc. Most of my previous students were boys so I said boys.
A number of us routinely answer SAT prep questions here. I see no reason why you shouldn’t as well.
As to Skype-- what does that have to do with this forum? I’m also a bit confused by the “one hour a month” thing-- the SATs for most rising Seniors will be at the end of October… .that means 3 hours of help between now and then. Anyone who seriously needs help would be far better off working on his own, or taking an SAT prep course, if he hopes to see a significant increase in his score over these last 3 months.
^I’m with bjkmom; this offer doesn’t make too much sense. Also, the OP hasn’t listed any credentials. I’m curious why several people seem so eager to study with him/her.
^ I’m also with bjkmom and CHD2013. For example, I’ve scored 800 twice, taught a few math classes, and tutored algebra up to calculus for a year, but I don’t really tutor much on CC beyond answering math questions here.
Right. MITer obviously has math credentials. I’ve taught math since 1980-- my avatar should probably clue you in that I’m capable (most days anyway.)
But I’m really not sure how or why anyone would choose to work with a stranger online whose only obvious credentials are the willingness to help. Altruism is wonderful, and I applaud it. But the SATs are a big deal; I would strongly suggest that anyone in need of help work with a tutor with a proven track record.
I’ll add that the barrier to helping here is pretty low: if you want to answer questions, just go ahead and do it! In fact, while credentials are nice, the content of your help will quickly make itself known.
p.s. not sure what my avatar reveals about me…
