Tutoring for SAT Math as a HS Junior... Reasonable rates?

<p>Hey, so I'm planning to start a SAT Math Class that I will tutor, and I'm wondering what you guys think a good rate would be.
I am a Junior in High School right now. Here are some relevant credentials:</p>

<ul>
<li>SAT Math Score: 800 (Took as a Sophomore)</li>
<li>SAT Subject Math Level 2 Score: 800 (Took last month)</li>
<li>Currently in AP CALC BC</li>
<li>Straight A's</li>
</ul>

<p>What would you guys pay? I was thinking $30 per 90 minutes. I plan on doing a class of up to 4 or 5 people.</p>

<p>Some of my friends are interested, but I don't want to make them feel like I'm asking for too much.
I plan on being a devoted tutor: I myself will prepare by doing the same HW that I assign my class.</p>

<p>Also, it would be great to hear some parent feedback as well.</p>

<p>Well I asked about this thinking of my daughter who would be a high school graduate by then having completed post calculus math classes, and what I learned is 1. parents who are paying generally want a professional not a kid, and 2. you can hire licensed teachers, college professors, college students or grad students to do this in our area for about $30-$50 an hour for private tutoring. So, good luck with charging that much. But, if it works out to $5 per session for each participant, maybe you’ll get takers. At our school, you’d also be competing with the free tutoring provided by the math honor society.</p>
