Does anyone know of any free online courses I could take? They don’t have to be for credit (although that would be cool). I know Southeastern Seminary is offering a free online class that you can do at your own pace so I was wondering if other schools might offer something similar. I’m not really looking for classes to get ahead in my major or anything, more of classes of things I’m interested in learning about that aren’t offered at my college. Thanks!
edX offers some
what you are looking for is called open courseware
MIT has the best selection of open courseware, you can even see their degree plan. however I find that most courses use 3-4 books for one class compared to just 1, makes makes you wonder if you need them all if you just ordering books from amazon. there is assignments and exams you can do, but no answers. I had to download winRAR to extract their compressed files, after downloading the course material. I paid $30 for the winRAR, and it was worth it. easy to install too. [MIT</a> OpenCourseWare | Free Online Course Materials](<a href=“http://ocw.mit.edu/index.htm]MIT”>MIT OpenCourseWare | Free Online Course Materials)
anyhow…
a few other sites I visit are:
[Saylor.org</a> ? Free Online Courses Built by Professors](<a href=“http://www.saylor.org/]Saylor.org”>http://www.saylor.org/)
[Delft</a> University of Technology: Cookie wet](<a href=“http://ocw.tudelft.nl/]Delft”>http://ocw.tudelft.nl/)
and a complete list of the open courseware is,
[OCW</a> Consortium - OpenCourseWare Websites Viagra 200mg Price](<a href=“http://www.ocwconsortium.org/en/courses/ocwsites]OCW”>OEC Members | The Open Education Consortium)
also if you have an iphone, ipad etc… you can get the app itunes U
correct me if I am wrong, but the itunes u just started so the selection of courses is limited to 1st year university studies… but most of the classes where in video format where they recorded the professors lecture, whereas MIT just gives power point sides and notes.
have fun!
eacho4300, how does Coursera compare to those you listed? ^
thank you so much echo4300 for that helpful information.
