Free Tulane iPhone App

Tulane University (FREE!!!) iPhone app just in time for Honors Weekend!
I just downloaded mine.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tulane-university/id360014532?mt=8

Now available for download in the App Store, the free Tulane application gives iPhone and iPod Touch users access to the latest news, sports schedules, weather, videos and more. Current students, faculty and staff members, as well as alumni, parents and prospective students can all find ways to connect to Tulane via the app.

Developed in partnership with Straxis Technology, the app includes:

■Campus News – The latest headlines from New Wave and The Hullabaloo.
■Athletics – Green Wave news and schedules.
■Events – Upcoming campus events.
■Checklists – To-do lists for applicants and newly admitted students.
■Campus Map – Look up campus buildings and find your way around campus.
■Multimedia – Campus photos to use as wallpaper and the Tulane YouTube channel.
■Weather – Current conditions and the seven-day forecast.
"This is a great way for people to keep up with what's happening at Tulane, at any time, from anywhere," says Rachel Hoormann, director of university web communications. "But I want to know what app users think. Please send me your feedback and don't forget to rate and review the app in the iTunes store."

Dammit, I have a BlackBerry Storm!

Don’t worry FC: I emialed Rachel at Tulane and she promises that Blackberry app will follow by fall.

I got that email too about the Tulane App on Iphone. I confess, my first thought was “you can now fill out an appliction to attend Tulane on your phone?” :o

So here’s a related question… How is the verizon vs. AT&T service in NOLA? I know around here, AT&T is just not quite good enough to justify our intense longing for an iphone!

MY s has an Iphone this year (we upgraded from a flipphone his freshman year). I haven’t heard him complain about reception, but then again he likes to occasionally claim bad reception when he doesn’t want to talk! :)

We’ll report on reception after this (Honors) weekend.
We all have iPhones.
(8^D

BTW, weather forecast is outstanding!!!

DS just texted that Verizon gets the best service in NOLA (texted from his AT&T phone).

I’ll actually be able to compare the two.
My (work) laptop which I’ll be bringing has Verizon broadband.

Do the “official student” test, AVHSdad- go into various parts of town and call for a taxi!

I think we’ll be doing most of our in-city travel by streetcar and walking.
Not much use for taxis except too and from the airport I expect.

Already a true NOLA person.

DS texted me-- said the problem he had with AT&T has had issues with volume. They went out during Mardi Gras and the super bowl. Don’t know if other providers had similar problems.

S2 and I downloaded the App. We are another iPhone (and soon iPad) family.

^ how appropriate, iphone and IPad for idad :D
