French 3 & Language Classes in General

<p>How hard is the French 3 class with Pries?</p>

<p>I've taken up to Honors French 4 and I got a 4 on the AP French Language exam. The director told me that I can take either 3 or 4, but I want to take 3, since I am taking French as an "easy" fourth class (on top of Chem 4B, Math 53, English 132). </p>

<p>Am I wrong in thinking that French is easy? How much harder is French 4 than French 3?</p>

<p>I've heard mixed things about foreign language -- my roommate who's in Spanish 2 right now says it's pretty easy. But I heard other people say it can take up a lot of time.</p>

<p>No it easy. Take French 3, and French 4 later.</p>

<p>French 3 is rather easy. Lot of busy work, but rather easy.</p>

<p>They don’t like people skipping French 3 unless they actually had 5 years of hs french.</p>

<p>French 3 is designed to help your writing a bit, as there are several essays you have to write.</p>

<p>5 years of high school french in 4 years, huh? haha. well my french 4 class was basically Honors 4 + AP French 5 combined. there were too few kids. all the juniors/seniors were basically doing the same thing, and I could have taken that class again, it would be the same class, but it would have the label, “AP French 5” second time around, vs. “Honors French 4”</p>

<p>How difficult is French 4? I’ve taken French up to the AP level in high school, and I am expecting a 5 on my AP test. </p>

<p>I’m thinking about taking French 4 with GWS 50ac, Math 1B and Chem 1A/AL next semester. It will be my first semester at Cal (I’m a freshman =)), so maybe that’s something to consider as well? Oh, and I’m premed, so my gpa is important to me!</p>

<p>Hmmmmm… I recommend taking Theater 52ac instead of GWS50ac. Theater 52ac is only 3 units and it fulfills the arts & lit breadth as well.</p>
