French: Listening vs. not

I just took a practice test for French w/listening and scored in the 600s. I am going to study until I take the test in November, but I am wondering:

If I think I can score higher on a test that has no listening, does that offset any preference colleges may have for the listening test?
Do colleges prefer one test over another?
Is the curve more generous on the listening test?

Thank you!

Colleges want the listening section.

which colleges and why ?

Every college, and because obviously it’s the more in depth test, they want to know the extent of your skillz.
