Subject Test Debacle!

Hello everyone,

I'm registered to take the SAT I on October 1, and have just decided to switch to take subject tests this time around (long story). I want to take the French test, but I noticed it is only offered WITHOUT the listening portion. Are colleges less accepting of the French with reading only, or would I be ok? In other words, is it worth it to wait until November to take the test?

Thanks for your help, and good luck to everyone testing!

No, it isn’t. Colleges have no explicit preference for either the listening or non-listening tests.

Thank you!

Sure, listening looks better than just reading. but any kind of language test looks good in general

The only difference would be the curve you could expect to receive. French w/listening gives a better curve than w/o but colleges don’t care either way as long as your test score is within their averages for admitted students
