French or Japanese, and the best way to learn it?

I was wondering, from the perspective of something working in the business/banking world, whether French or Japanese was the more beneficial language. Additionally, what's the best/most efficient way to learn that language short of moving to that country and living their for a year.

Mandarin (sp?) chinese would probably be better, seeing as they are basically they our the official bank of the U.S government now. Had an accounting buddy get a HUGE starting offer well above norm after graduation. (accounting)

I dunno, there seems to be substantial numbers of Chinese and Taiwanese students in my accounting program. Haven’t noticed any Japanese students.

Personally, I’m more interested in living in Japan and in Japanese culture in general so if I were to choose between one or the other, I’d choose that…

i actually do know mandarin chinese, but im hoping to learn one more
