Freshman class load

How hard is it to take the max amount of classes in your first semester of college…
Like 18 credit hours per semester instead of 12
Is it doable with dedication or just extremely stupid?

Depends on the classes and the student.

A previous post says you’re a rising junior? It’s a bit early to plan for specific college schedules if that’s the case. A lot can change in two years.

if you expect to graduate in 4 years you normally take 15-16 credits per semester. Labs often add an additional credit or two.

Like others have said it really depends on the classes and individual. However, pretty much all schools have an add/drop period at the beginning of the semester to make adjustments as needed.

First semester is not the time to take an extra load, IMO. Take a normal course load, adjust to college life, get involved, make friends, get a part-time job if wanted/needed. If things go well, you can always add an extra class the following semester or years.

I agree…set yourself up for success. Start with 15 credits (a normal class load) and see how it goes.
