Freshman College Summer Experience?!

Who is actually going to this? And does this look good on resume when you apply to grad schools? the thing i'm concerned is that the classes they offered in this program don't seem to be academically challenged...

This is definitely not something that’s meant for a resume. It’s meant for you to get a feel for the school before everyone else gets there. It’s meant to help you ease you into college and help you make some friends. The classes aren’t supposed to be academically challenging because it’s supposed to be relatively easy. They don’t want to take you straight from high school and dump you into a challenging college course. That wouldn’t be very fun. It’s supposed to be a relaxing, fun experience. Although, you do have to realize that you’ll be taking the class in a condensed time frame. That could make it a little challenging. But the classes they list aren’t too hard to begin with. They’re your basic intro classes.

If you do decide to do this, just make sure that whatever class you choose, it can apply to your major, ie, don’t take BIOL1103 if you’re going to be a science major - that’s the wrong bio.

I think it could be fun and a way to meet new people. Summer classes are also nice because the campus is SUPER chill in the summer. There isn’t that many people on campus and you get to enjoy the quiet, calm campus before the craziness comes back in the fall.
