Freshman Dorms

Apparently H sends out notifications by last name order
and have currently just finished notifying the B's/C's.

I'm almost certain that isn't totally true. I have noticed several people with B and C last names that got their letters, but I also know people who got their info and had no one with a last name before H in their quad. I also know two people who had singles that have last names around L.

White_Rabbit, have you received yours? D have not received hers yet. We are in northeast.

Last year, kids in the direct Mass area seemed to get them first, then northeast kids (including myself), then it slowly headed out west, and finally internationally. So perhaps it's geographic. I knew at least a week ahead of one of my Cali roommates...but who knows if that was Harvard's doing, or a mail delay, or what. Just what I happened to notice.

i requested as many roommates as possible as far south as possible (closer to the athletic fields).
i got a double in the dorm farthest from the athletic fields. my roommate seems to be what i asked for though.
and about the geography thing, i got my info two days before some people in NY and i live in texas. the mail is a funny thing. whatever...we all eventually get it.

token89, is your name Jacques? I only ask because a girl on the Harvard facebook group in Texas posted her info today and it seemed like no one else from this side of the country has heard anything yet.

who are you?

Ben...... needed more letters in this message.

Sextuplet at hurlbut. I'm not informed on whether either is a good thing, but at least it divides the "bringing stuff" responsibilities.

Hurlbut suites are sweeeeet, in my opinion (one of my friends was in one last year). Yeah, you're not directly in the yard, but whatever, you're close enough. The rooms themselves are amazing, my friend told me they're renovated apartments... so they're pretty inside and totally spacious. My friend had a large hallway with a few bedrooms (I forget how many) radiating off...and the rooms were huge and each guy had his own huge closet (My friend actually had 2 closets for some reason, I'm not sure why...one of which was a walk-in). Plus, they had an extra room that they decided to use as like a living room (I guess you can use it as a bedroom too)..so whenever they had parties in there, it was a great setup. I had a sextuplet in Weld, and I loved having so many roommates...I feel like I met more people that way and always had someone there to hang with.

How close are we to the law school gym?

Not particularly close..to get to Hemenway (law school gym), you've gotta go through the whole yard and behind the sci center (although "not particularly close" is still definitely a walkable distance...it's just in the context of the Harvard campus, Hemenway isn't that close). You'll probably prefer to go to the MAC to work out.

I see .

Hemenway isnt that close but its definitely nicer. They have all the equipment you'll need...but the best part is that there are TV's on each treadmill and they have cable (something, your room will not have). So, I usually go run at night and watch a baseball or football game while Im there. Also, just use the distance it takes to get there as your warm-up jog.
The MAC doesn't have TV's or music playing, so the last time I went there it was weird...you can just hear everyone breathing heavy in the silence. Haha, awkward...

When was the last time you went to the MAC? They installed TVs on the cardio equipment last fall/winter.

Yeah, a lot of my roommates preferred Hemenway, but once the MAC got updated, it was perfectly fine too. If you're much closer to the MAC, you might as well go there; it doesn't make much of a difference.

Its been a while...last fall? It was right after they renovated, so maybe I was just too early...
Oops, disregard my post. They both rock. :)

Someone else posted this on another thread but I thought some of the people here would like to see it...
