~Freshman Fifteen!~

That's an urban legend, guapocarlos.

i hate fat people

I'm thin, but what the hell, "I hate fat people"??

Do you really think the FDA would let coke put zero calories on their labels if it didn't in fact have (close to) zero calories?

You never know what those people at the Federal Dead-people Agency are thinking.

I want to gain ~30-40 lbs !
i've never been fat ... i used to do no excercise and still had 8-9% bodyfat, same with my sister she is 5' 4 and 90 lbs
i'm not sure if its diet (we eat almost all homecooked stuff) or genetics but i think lowering certain types of food does help.
(i.e processed carbohydrates = NO, NO ground beef pepperoni etc..they all have very high fat) If you eat lean protein (steak, fish, chicken etc.)you won't pack on the pounds as much. avoid fried greasy crap and snacks as well.

I actually went from 110 pounds to 105 pounds over my two years at college. (I'm 5'5".) I think it's due to stress. I do not exercise, except for walking to class, and I eat whatever I want. Stress will make you lose weight. There are hardly any fat kids at my university.

I'm gonna be a senior this year and my plan is to lose 10-15 pounds after the application process, so that the big freshman fifteen issue won't be a problem for me.

The freshman 15 is so hard to lose, it took me all summer.

8-9%? That's on the EXTREMELY low end, and i don't think it can be achieved by diet alone... you'd need some pretty intense working out, i think.

8-9% isn't extremely low for a guy

good point. the only chart i have is for girls, and 8-9 is deffinitely in the lowest bracket of "very lean"

definitely, 8-9% is very unhealthy for girls

if theyre still having their period, they should be fine.

usually they won't if its under 10%

Ok fine so maybe diet soda does have zero calories... but fine drink your "zero calorie" soda... then die of chemical poisoning lol. okay maybe not that far.. but I still believe if you're gonna drink anything, why not just drink water?

Because diet coke is good.

Food is good.

But if you really want to lose it, then you'd control yourself

Are you talking to me or in general? I did lose my freshman 15, in about 2 months. I don't like being uncomfortable with myself, so I don't allow myself to stay in such a state for a long time. People need to eat because they're hungry, not out of emotion, boredom, routine, etc.

hmm interesting. i never saw the appeal of soda, i drink it like once or twice a month. but i just went to the dr the other day and she said the reason i've been passing out randomly for a few years is because i don't get enough salt.
so when she found out i only drink water (and a lot of it) she told me to drink decaf soda.. which im not going to do haha but i thought it was kind of weird. it's not like i don't eat things with salt, i just don't drink things besides water mostly
