<p>Hi Pierre et al - we strongly feel our son should not rush/pledge first semester freshman year but he is of course trying to convince us otherwise. Is there a downside to waiting until Spring? Could her participate in rush and not pledge (one of his many lame solution suggestions)? Thanks for the advice. BTW - He is from Massachusetts too.</p>
<p>I know a lot of students who rushed in the spring so there’s really no downside to waiting until the Spring. Unlike sororities who only have rush once a year, fraternities has rush twice a year so there’s a lot of flexibility in when you can join. I’m not sure if he should rush and not pledge (might give a bad vibe to some fraternities that may want him if he rushes again)</p>
