Hi all,
I am an incoming freshman and want to live in South Quad or East Quad. However, when completing my application, it asked to list preference according to LLCs, not buildings. I am not interesting in LLCs, so for my top three choices I selected “General Apartment Style”, “General Suite Style”, and “General Traditional Style”. I was wondering if anybody could offer insight on whether or not this would grant me a typical quad or suite, or if I have the wrong idea? Also, does anyone know which LLCs place students in quads (besides Green Quad)?
Thanks!!
This link will tell you which buildings the LLCs are associated with.

Most buildings have more than one LLC associated with them so if you don’t fit into “the mold” of one, you may fit another. My understanding is that you should apply to at least one LLC if you want to be in any particular building. You may get a building you want by luck, but why leave it to chance? You can be as involved as you want to be or just skim the surface of the LLC from what I understand.
East Quad is the Business Learning Community. If you go to the Housing page (not the application) then click on residences, then click on the residence you want to see, each one has information near the bottom regarding which LLC (if any) is associated with that Residence Hall.
From my understanding, you have the best shot at getting your desired dorm by listing a LLC, but I know of many students who didn’t get any of their choices for dorms, despite listing one–so just know that there are no guarantees going into this and try to keep an open mind. It seems like the kids in Capstone wanting that dorm, and Honors dorm kids have a really good shot at getting placed there but the others can be a crap shoot. Traditional and suite style dorms are easier to meet people in, so if you end up with one of those, that would be the silver lining.
