<p>Just wondering when the freshmen get our ID cards. I was at the 6/7/07 orientation and already had my photo taken, but I am getting an Apple laptop and according to my local Authorized Apple Reseller, they need a copy ofthe ID with the purchase.</p>
<p>I could of course, buy it online (where I hear they don't check IDs), but I still would prefer to buy it in-store.</p>

<p>If I recall correctly, my freshman year they gave us our IDs at the 2nd part of orientation, which is right before classes start. Odd that the Apple store would require an ID when so many pre-frosh buy new computers in the summer. Seems like buying online is your best bet, or maybe finding out if they'd accept an enrollment verification (the thing you have to give health insurance companies to prove you're a full-time student), which you can probably get off of SOLAR already. You'd think if it was enough to get you health insurance it'd be enough for a stupid retail discount.</p>
<p>the apple store does not require school id. last year i got my mac at the apple store and they just asked me which school i go to [bring your stony brook acceptance letter instead if you want tho].
