So with all these Freshman seminars, I'm having a hard time choosing one to take. A lot of them are already filled =(. But yeah... anyone have any recommendations? Which ones have less work (like no writing involved? or easy tests?)? Which ones are more interesting?

The work and interest varies but generally the 1 unit seminars have little work. I imagine interest would be incredibly affected by the topic of the course and the style of the prof. I'd find out what you can about the personalities of individual professors and think about what you want to learn more about. One thing you might consider, particularly if you have a good idea of what you want to study in the future, is to take a course with a prof that you might want to study with in the future, or in the same subject area or department to get to know faculty early. F/S seminars are are also great ways to learn about something completely different or new that you haven't been able to study before. If you've always wanted to read a certain thing, like the Odyssey or Shakespeare's sonnets, it's a good way to do so.
