Freshman seminars?

What are some good websites that I can go to other than Northwestern's own website to get a more in-depth perspective of the seminars (like if the professors are good)

I'm talking about something like www.ratemyteacher.com or some other website that current students post on that can help incoming freshman

thanks!

NU has CTECs for when you actually enroll here. you might be able to look at them, just go to CAESAR (northwestern.edu/caesar), sign in, look for your seminar, and view ctecs. these are all submitted by past students about the course itself and also the professor.

hope you weren't talking about that when you said northwestern's own website

http://www.registrar.northwestern.edu/ctec/

They're really useful.

Any suggestions?

I don't know how helpful any of them will be, but Ellen Wright was one of the best prof's I've had- such a sweet lady, a great teacher. I'd recommend any class with her. I took ENG 205 Intermediate Comp with her and even though I didn't feel that I improved THAT much, I loved the class.

i remember reading the description for the "How Language Works" seminar and it sounds great for your desire for better writing skills. it seemed like a great class that teaches you the power of diction, sentence structure, and a more advanced grasp of the english language. i would go with that one if I was you.

Thanks a lot!

i've had both jeanne herrick and kathleen carmichael. herrick was an amaaaaaazing teacher, shes a lot of fun and a really cool person =). carmichael really makes sure that you know how to present things well and is very succinct. of course, i had both of them in the engineering side, for edc
