I’m curious.

I’ve seen some videos on YouTube for the Freshman Showcase performances. Are these showcases at the beginning or the end of the freshman year? And, what is the purpose of these showcases?

Thanks.

Hey there. Freshman Showcase is the first show of first semester. Therefore, it’s at the very beginning of the year. And the purpose of the showcase is really just to get the freshman up on their feet and to get used to working together as a class. It also serves a “get to know you” purpose for upperclassmen and the rest of the faculty to finally put names to faces and celebrate the talents of the new class. All students are guaranteed a performance opportunity every semester, and this serves as the first semester freshmen performance opportunity.

Hey musicislife:

Thanks very much for the clarification. I figured that’s what it was, but wasn’t sure.

My D is accepted academically but still has to audition - we’ll definitely have more questions if she gets accepted artistically.

Thanks!

Hooray
Break a leg at auditions!
