Hello,

I am going to be going to Cal this fall as an EECS student. I am currently looking into the Freshman Summer Session.

I am wondering...

Which classes should I take?

Will losing my "only and last free summer" be worth it?

I've emailed the College of Engineering, but have not received a response. Thinking I might get a little more help here.

Any advice is great. Citing sources even better.

Thanks.

Most do not attend it and it has not seemed to hurt anyone. Since most have some credits from AP classes when they start, getting through in four years does not require a head start with summer session.

Personally, I would say enjoy the summer, recharge the batteries and come to Cal in Fall ready for a great experience.

Thank you Rider… that was what I was assuming, but wasn’t entirely sure.

Need to enjoy my time with my girlfriend before she goes to Stanford :P

Good plan. You don’t want to be too enthused having met a real mascot like Oski and enjoyed some real school spirit. It might cause you to slip and say unkind things about having a pine tree as an athletic mascot.
