<p>I think have read somewhere at MIT website that if someone completes less than 12 credits at a college, he or she is considered a freshman applicant. But I can't find the link now. Can any of the admins help me on this?</p>

<p>As far as I’m aware, the guideline is that anyone who has not enrolled at a college as a degree-seeking student is eligible to apply as a freshman, and anyone who has is not. I don’t believe it’s based on the number of credit hours completed.</p>
<p>Unless you’re enrolled as a first-year early enrollment student. Then you can still apply as a freshman, but not to Princeton.</p>
