International - Freshman or Transfer ?

Hi
I'm an international student currently studying in USA.
I have good academic standing & want to apply to MIT as a course 2 major.

I have already done two semesters in USA. My question is can I apply to MIT as freshman, instead of a transfer ? I don't want any credits to be transferred, but just get admission based on my application ? Is it possible ?

Thank you.

I don’t think so, unless you’re at your current university as an early enrollment student.

From the FAQ (FAQ Topics Transfer | MIT Admissions):

If you have been enrolled as a degree-seeking student in a university (in the US or otherwise), you are not eligible to apply as a freshman and must apply as a transfer.
