Freshman with a possibly low Math II Sat Subject exam score

Hello all,
I am freshman who just took the Math II Sat Subject exam and just think I failed it…I skipped about 3 and probably got 8-10 wrong. One factor about me failing would probably be the fact I only started studying a month earlier (as it was only to mentioned to other students at my school one month in advance) and I used the Barron’s book and SAT blue book. Would it look bad to colleges if I were to take it again next year? Also, do you guys have any tips to get over test-taking anxiety (I get very nervous very quickly and don’t how to calm myself down at times).

Thanks,
A person

Did you take pre-calc already in HS Freshmen year? Why would you even take subject test in freshmen year? You should wait for at least another subject to test together in SAT2.

@billcsho No I did, but I thought if I finished it now it would be easier (because everything would be fresh in my head).

Math 2 is up to pre-Calc. If you have not taken it, it is not fresh in your head.

Retake it in junior year. Colleges will more than likely toss your first score when they see the reason for poor scoring was taking it so early.

Why would you take a subject test as as freshman that you only studied for a short amount of time? What a waste of your parents money. If you apply to colleges that require all tests taken, yes, you will have to submit it.

As for test anxiety, people who are wll prepared for tests aren’t usually anxious about them. Next time, be well prepared. Don’t take an exam you aren’t ready for.

Frankly, unless you know you need it for a specific school, it’s kind of a waste of time at this point. Some colleges that want subject tests don’t care whether you take Math I or Math II. To be best prepared with minimum review, do as someone suggested. Take a subject test after you finish the similar HS course. Make a tentative college list and look at subject test requirements and keep up with them as approach junior year. Too early.
