Hey, forum. I’m currently a Junior at a competitive prep school. All my fellow classmates that are at the top of my class have had 4.6s all 3 years of high school. When I compare myself, I have had a 3.95 my freshman year, a 4.4 my sophomore year, and currently a 4.75 my Junior year, with a cumulative GPA of 4.3. While this is lower than my peers, it also makes a nice upward trend. I was wondering if my freshman year GPA would really hurt my chances of getting into my dream schools like Northwestern, Berkley, and UPenn. (Also currently taking 4 out of 5 AP courses my Junior Year).
What’s your unweighted GPA? 3.95 looks pretty good on paper.
My school does not do unweighted GPA. AP classes are immediately weighted on the 5.0 GPA scale with normal classes on the 4 and honors on the 4.5.
Recalculate your uwGPA from letter grades in 4.0 scale.
