Freshman

I was knee-deep in textbooks because I thought a single B for a quarter would kill me so I didn't really notice the hazing :P

class of 07 had a cool theme/slogan

Hahaha, freshmen, hahaha.. Yeah, when I was young I had to carry my obese sister 10 miles uphill in the snow and thunder while running away from thugs! Not like these modern kids...

PS. '09 KICKS ASS.

yay first post of new year

Another 2011'er here =]

2011 =] hahah

I'm 2009.

But I think 08 is probably the best.

^^^i'll have to agree with you on that :p

Obviously, 2009. Though I think that '07 was the best. '11 can never replace the people they replaced. << Er? I suck at grammar and wording.

^^Completely agreed. Though I hate these class battles, I think that they're ridiculous. Maybe it's just the fact that I lack any form of spirit -- school? team? class? -- nope!

The worst thing about being a freshman right now is that you realize your high school is only a slightly larger version of your middle school, with more importance on your grades and our college future looming ever closer. Nothing has truly changed except that whatever you do will be to help you get into college. Also, just the fact that I am only a freshman bothers me. It sucks, because I want to go somewhere, explore different places, meet new diverse people, and live in the city. But I can't because I'm stuck in high school. aghhhh. What do you guys think? I mean, I have alot of goals (getting into MIT and Princeton, for instance), but I just want it all to go faster...

It's not going to go faster. But you can make it feel like it's going faster by having fun. If you start freaking out about grades your freshman year, you're setting yourself up for a monster breakdown. And probably some grey hairs.

"you guys could just hold up your thumbs instead"

We've been making an "X" with our fingers. :p But yeah...it's certainly awkward.

I actually, for the most part, enjoy being a freshman. In a way, having the large majority of high school in front of you is a blessing. All too often in life people wish they could go back to the beginning and start over. But that's what we're getting to do right now. We have plenty of opportunities...there's very few ships that have sailed. So I, personally, appreciate this as a chance to get a significant part (I'm not trying to make it out to be more than it actually is though, don't get me wrong. But it's still relatively much more important than most of what I've done in my life so far.) of my life correct the first time. If I can do things just right, I may very well be able to walk away from it with few, if any, regrets. Wouldn't that be wonderful!

Plus...it's a wonderful crutch. The "just a freshman" excuse has saved me from problems multiple times. ;)

Woo-hoo! Another '11-er here! Hah. :)

'08 here (leaving this year!)

Don't freak out about college too much, freshmen. You have a few years left - don't waste them!

another '11 here!
sophs, juniors and seniors at my school like to use the whole "you're a freshman. you go do it." :P

improvprincess, do you do Improv, too?

I WISH IT WOULD GO SLOWER! I have 7 classes first semester, and 7 classes second semester (albeit that 5 of the them are year long honors courses). And I know people want to get out of school sooner... but this longing makes you just waste the time you have. I'm a '11er, and I will be taking most of my classes in college next year. I plan to go to a magnet High School, apply to several different programs and such... but I don't get out of High School until a good bit after the average student, after which I have my online classes, then I have many ECs... it just seems to be flying by.

Remember that it's your life too, not just school.

The average person has about 75 years in his life, and you want 4 of those years to just zoom by.

Those 4 years are about 5% of your life, which is a lot, and have the potential to be some of the best years of your life. This is the only place where class can be a big social scene where you can chill and talk with friends, laugh, joke, flirt, etc. If that doesn't mean much to you then maybe you aren't trying hard enough to enjoy life.

haha.
good luck guys, and take it easy.
freshman year is a vacation.
