How can a freshman prepare for Barnard?

High School or incoming college freshman?

I looked at some of the OP's other posts and see that she is, in fact, evidently a freshman at a prep school ...

So the advice is to take the most demanding classes you can, do well, and figure out what you are great at and love to do. Also, take the time to visit colleges in which you think you might be interested, preferably during the school year when classes are in session. Then you should be well able to apply to a good selection of colleges knowing you have put yourself in the best possible position to have great choices when the end of March rolls around in your Senior year!

Yes, I'm a freshman in high school (prep school). Sorry for the lack of detail in my original post!

Thanks for your advice!

Besides preparing academically like churchmusicmom said, my advice would be to relax. While I find it very admirable that you're thinking about college this early, if you think about it too much you won't be able to enjoy high school as much. Basically, don't be in a rush to live your life.
