<p>Yes, the freshman class is in the 6,000 range. Last year had about 1400 students preselected into honors, and I know that the requirements for honors were subsequently tightened up. How much, I don't know, but it would seem to make sense that the number went down to 1,000 or slightly below.</p>
<p>The honors web page box under "Compare the Honors program and the Scholars program" now says there will be 1300 honors students in each new class.</p>
