I believe most college students have heard about freshmen 15. When I was a freshman, in my dorm a poster posted on the wall beside the elevator saying that "Avoid freshmen 15, don't take the elevator down from floor 5 or below". Do you feel embarrassed taking the elevator if you live on third floor? Do you believe that freshmen 15 is a fact or not? Share your experience! Thanks!

I live on the second floor and always take the stairs, but generally I take the stairs if where I need to go is within four stories or so, as I find that’s quicker than waiting for the bleedin elevator. As for the freshman 15, I somehow turned that into the freshman negative 45. Go figure.

I live in a ten story dormitory and it’s an unsaid rule that you cannot take the elevator for the fourth floor or below… otherwise you subject yourself to some dirty looks. Typically floors 6 and 9 are good to press as its one away from all the upper floors.

As far as weight goes, I have lost weight here. Not that I was overweight to start, but I don’t snack much anymore and work out more.

At my old school I’d only take the elevator if it was really late at night and me and my buddies didn’t feel like walking (we were on the third floor). I took it once during normal hours and got plenty of playful hate (as in nobody was actually mad, but they sure vocalized their displeasure).

Three or four flights is not hard to walk at all though. I’m out of shape and it’s fine. Now at my school I’m on the sixth of 8 floors though, so I take the elevator :P

I have knee problems and i live on the top floor (4th) so i have to take the elevator. Though sometimes if i’m feeling good i may take the stairs…

That thing is just all some preppy clich

someone else noted that it seems like there’s a whole lot of this same kind of post, in the same broken english, by someone who recently joined this board.

coincidence, anyone?

Someone else suggested that the posters may be a group of English-learning students practicing. Even if it’s not true, that makes it totally bearable.

I live on the 4th floor of my building and almost always take the stairs both up and down! If you live on the second floor and take the elevator, you’re lazy as f*** and should walk. I can understand (somewhat) the 3rd floor, and 4th and 5th are acceptable…but it’s so much healthier to take the stairs, often, so much faster, and generally just less annoying.

what the hell? did you weigh like 300 lbs when you started?
